New paint on the challenger
« on: January 03, 2005 - 03:21:14 PM »
This morning my older brother called me with a happy little perk in his voice.  He informed me that the challenger he has been working on for some time has just arrived home for assembly.  So camara in hand, I ventured out on the 5 minute drive to see the progress and low and behold . . . . looks pretty good!!      Of course while I was there, snapped a couple of his RR.  Then after complementing him on how great it looks, he grins this sly smirk and says "My car gonna be done before yours!"   :pissed:   :pissed:   :pissed:   :pissed:   :pissed:   :pissed:

So I left there, took the rest of the day off and went to the auto parts looking for some radiator hoses.  Time to get to work!   :spank:

Wow! That color is just so cool!  Why isn't your brother a member here?  He doesn't know what he's missing.

There is a story behind the motor.  It came out of a Challenger that he bought at auction.  The car had been hit on an expressway somewhere kentucky/tennessee area and was smashed on the passenger side all the way to the firewall!  This car was mint though!  The interior was flawless!  So we pulled the motor out and I believe its a 318 but still haven't made sure yet!  He has already fired the motor and it actually ran pretty good!  He still has a long way to go so I need to get moving!  Mine doesn't run yet!

He did say he will probably sell the Challenger when he's finished.   :dontknow:

Wow, that is going to be one hot car when it's finished...Too bad he doesn't plan on keeping it.  His RoadRunner is really sweet, too.  As for the race to see who finishes, don't worry 4C, you have that in the bag. :grinyes:

Wow I love your confidence in me Street!  Actually we both have a long way to go.  I do have alittle advantage, I have a better schedule for taking time off than he does plus he has a family with 2 kids and a wife and I have none . . . less distractions!   :grinyes:  :grinyes:  :grinyes:  I'd better be careful cause he wanted to see this thread after I posted the pics and I don't want to give away all my plans.   :grinyes:

But I know now that he has already seen this!!   :eeksmall:
