Seat Rail Pads For 71 Challenger
« on: August 10, 2011 - 11:06:19 AM »
Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a picture of how these seat rail pads are mounted?  My car didn't have them and I just want to make sure.

Thanks
Dave

There're just seat spacers.  They just slide onto the studs and space the seat up from the floorpan.  I don't think my 73 had them either.

I've never seen those before. My seats do have a stack of large washers under the rear studs on the seat tracks, so I can see them coming in handy.   :grinyes:

Mine had them. Some were split/cracked so I made new ones out of aluminum.

Were they on all four studs or just on the rear?  If there were four of them per seat, were they all the same height or were there two different sizes?  Were all cars supposed to get them?

On mine they were on all 4 studs. All the same thickness too. I don't know for sure if they were "stock" for my car as someone swapped in 74 E-Body seats into mine ( It has shoulder belts)

The ad says 2 kits required for bucket seats, so I"d say
they go on all 4 studs.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

That's what I figured also.  I was going to make them myself out of high density rubber for a smoother feel.  I just never heard of anyone talking about them before.  Thanks.
