70 Cuda 440-6 4spd Replacement Block

I've Owned a 70 Cuda V Code 440-6pac 4spd Car for ever. Its been in the Garage since 1988. Anyways I just started learning and finding numbers on this thing. Fist its a BS23VOB car and on the Firewall bulkhead up by the window wiper crank arms cover on the DS I've found a BU stamped followed by the same last 6 of the serial number but haven't found that anywhere else its not on the radiator  support and it looks original and also on the Block Vin Pad their is nothing its blank.
So my Questions are this Why the BU on the firewall/Bulkhead and if no numbers on the Block is it still a numbers match motor for the car. The block is dated at 7-25-1969 and has the thicker Harmonic Balancer and a F440 & HP2 Stamp up top

the body stampings reverse so it could be BO xxxxxxx
 the block could be a replacement block , it would be nice to have warranty certificate of this , but if there is no stamping it was sold through the parts / warranty end & is not off the assembly line installed in any car

The Bulkhead stamping is Clearly a BU followed by a space then the last six digits of the windsheild vin. Dont know why that is.
With my car having a warranty block/possible sold over the counter block makes it not a number matching car even though the block is dated 7-25-1969?

Warranty blocks should have a metal plaque.  Post a photo of the VIN pad, cowl VIN and someone will help you.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Sorry my camera Sucks the first 2 letters on the Cowl are a "BU" and those are what I dont understand along with the Blank Block Vin

By the way I took the Fender Tag and rear seat Broadcast sheet out/off the car back in 1988 and put them somewhere safe and today just can't find them. Really Sucks

Cowl looks perfect.  That's BO 270323 like Neil said it would be.   The VIN pad looks to have the correct milling marks.

I looked at the Cowl Stampings under a Magifiying glass and its a " BU" Why and what does it mean or Designate? On the Block Vin Pad are you talking about the Machining Marks that look like it was cut From left to right? and with it being a 7-25-69 block does it make it correct as a warranty block. If it was purchaced say over the counter in say about 1972-3 wouldn't have been a later block? What I'm trying to say Ive had the car since the mid 80's and the guy I got it from told me it was the original motor but now and only now Iam looking at the block vin. Anyway to trace the car to see if its a warranty motor Exchange?

Tear your house apart and find that Fender Tag and Build sheet. They could make your car worth at least $5,000 more then it is without them.

It definitely sounds like a warranty block based on your description, which make it a non-numbers car, but should not hurt the value too much if that is a concern.  It would be interesting to dig up some details, but my guess would be the original owner bought it, then very early on raced it and blew up the engine, which would help explain why the date code on the block now is so close to the build date of the car.
