Organasol Blackout Above Rear Tail Lamps (1970 RT)
« on: August 11, 2011 - 04:07:21 PM »
hey all ....

I have a question for the group -

Could an R/T come from the assembly line with the blackout applied above the rear tail lamp area?

Durring the repaint/resto on the car I purchased (done 5-6 years ago), that area was blacked out by the PO restoration shop.

Some folks think that only the TA cars had this done, I also heard from reputable mopar guys that this could have also been done on a R/T.

I want to make the car correct, so which ever way is correct I will change it accordingly.

Thanks in advance -
Bill

Only the T/A's were SUPPOSED to get that area blacked out.  That's not to say that an R/T didn't slip through.  Unless you have picture evidence of your car originally having the blackout, I'd keep it body color.

I believe this to be true
mine was also blacked out & is an R/T but it was done when it was restored , not originally
Mine also being an SE I painted my trim panel above the lights Black instead of the Argent ,just because I prefer the look with the black on the rear
