74 Cuda, Relocated parking lamps
« on: August 12, 2011 - 01:02:37 AM »
Finally relocated the parking/turn signal lights in the front valance. I used some wal-mart fog lights for the housing, 70 front insert, and added road lamps. I'm pretty happy the way it turned out, I tried some other locations but nothing really worked out. I didn't have cut or splice any wiring which is what I wanted to happen. Let me know what you guys think.

I think the turn signals are nice.

The road lamps stick out too far for my taste. I love the spoiler!

not bad...

I want to do something similar...use the 70 lower insert, but move the turn signals into the headlights, using something like these:

I like the turn signals in the head lights and was gonna try for that, but from the feedback and research I did on them, Everyone reported you cant see the turn signals with the lights on...

The road lamps might stick out a little further than the Mopar Road lamps. Mine are from a 68 mustang with 71 cuda road lamp mounting brackets.

I got the front spoiler from this guy, http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=5595066&page=0&fpart=2&vc=1 . Its pretty nice, painted in and bolted in on.

CUDA JAS-

Been doing some more research and I think found headlights to use. Found a Jeep forum were they talk about the ones you showed and these ones I found. It seems the one you have up is plastic and melts (according to a Jeep owner). This link http://www.ratrodzstore.com/product.sc;jsessionid=0748D1922C2F856FD685AF17AB20AB65.qscstrfrnt04?productId=146&categoryId=10 appears to be the headlights to use.

I'm really thinking about doing those.

Check out the Jeep Forum here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/headlights-783749/ where they talk about it.

Opps, forgot a picture. Its part number UP-31378 (Amber LED's)

LEDs on each side, right side for the parking light and the left for the blinker, switch out the flasher for a LED flasher and I think it would be good to go.

Not too shabby!  Not sure of that front spoiler though.  I like the simple one MAS has:

I think you really should blackout the radiator and hood latch support so you don't see it through the valance/grille.

Hey thanks man... I like those.  I will have to look into those, if I ever find a deal on a 70 lower valance piece.

I wonder if you could wire the LEDs together and have them act as only turn signals...not sure I love the seperate runnign lights and turn signals. :dunno:

I have done some more work on this project. I took it to the next level and got the headlights with the LEDS in the sides.  Parking lights and turn signals in the headlight make it cleaner than this way. I'll have to post some pictures later.

Here is a picture with the parking lights on in the new headlights.

The inside light blinks for the turn signals.
