I have read this thread before. It has been questioned by many, why they started and stopped making the shaker hood. It is known that Chrysler had trouble with other manufacturers who made parts for them...such as the shaker ring. It is also know that the crumple zone time coincides with the time that the hoods were not made. If they had to wait for hood that was made with the crumple zones, to make the shaker hood, they would have not had flat hoods available also. They had flat hoods available. No one really knows why the production was stopped. I tend to agree with Scott on the hoods. Chrysler was just building cars to sell. When you look at things from that viewpoint you can imagine the things that could have been done to get the car out and build the next one on the line. Also when I gave the years for the different hoods, and crumple zones, I did not go into months. No one knows the date for sure, so I did not bring it up. I was just answering HK's question.
