They're falling from the sky and worth alot. Higher than gold value.
Montana and Arizona are prime locations to find em.

"When a meteor penetrates low into the atmosphere and moves relatively slow, it can create meteorites that fall to the ground, Cooke explained. The fireball seen last week slowed to approximately 25,200 mph (40,555 kph)."

25,200 MPH!?!?!!?  SLOW!?!?!?!

Back in 2000, Leonids (ice balls) came into our atmosphere at night. Thousands of them filled the sky at night. It was truly an amazing once in a lifetime sight. Reminded me of a Star Wars battle scene.

The Leonids were here because Jupiters asteroid belt was the closest to Earth in 100's if not 1,000's of years.
Alabama license plate says ("Stars fall...?) Are they found there alot?

I know diamonds are found there in some park just walking.

Back in the 90's my wife and I would metal detect.

Found a lot of silver coins, jewelry and newer coins.  When we found a rock or ragged
piece of metal we would toss it.  Who knew.

Great show Meteorite Men on TV,  two meteorite hunters Steve and Goeff
joined up and found millions of dollars worth of meteorites.  My wife would love to find a meteorite.
But the back is not as young as it was 15 yrs ago..

A meteorite struck the rear of a car in 1992.   The CAR sold for over $100,000

Ever see one coming in close? Absolutely amazing. I saw one once when I was in the Mt. Lassen area. Way up Northern CA. near OR. border.

As it flew over, sparks were coming off it and then it turned a bright blue before disappearing out of sight.

We were like

They aren't gonna fight squat on that one. When they hit that fast and explode the are darn big blasts probably was blown to the molecular level. and the smaller chucks get burned up.
