I know it's been a long time since I posted but thought I would post a couple of pictures of my car on Powerblock and a cool old navy plane.

That's my dad getting the kiss. Just my luck, I have the car built and he gets the kiss  :naughty: We had a lot of fun at the shoot and as with all the car shows it gives my dad and I time together which is really why I rebuilt the car after 25 years.

That's an awesome car.  I wish we were physically closer to my folks so that I could enlist my dad's help.  I remember "helping" him as a kid working on cars.  Now I have my 5 year old daughter who "helps" me work on the car.

I'm glad you and your dad are able to share that aspect of the hobby.

Cheers,

That looks awfully like my girlfriend and I think the plane's an old Panther. I got to put an arm around Courtney out at Barrett-Jackson a couple of years ago and she's even hotter in person! Besides being hotter than a firecracker, she can pull a wrench AND, her daddy owned a race track. Now, if her mom owned a liquour store or speed shop, she'd be the perfect woman!

Courtney was really nice and we had a lot of fun on the set. Thanks for letting me know what kind of plane that is as I had no idea. Do you know when they were in service and what thier primary purpose was?

Thanks, I think it would look cool on the cover and I would be ok with that but I would not want it in the calendar itself as I had a page last year and think the other members should post pictures of thier cars. I like seeing new cars in the calendar each year  :2cents:

and a cool old navy plane.

Not 100% sure, but that looks like a Korean War era Navy F9F Panther.  Love old planes & old cars!

Mark, at the risk of really dating myself, regarding the plane, it was the first US jet carrier fighter that replaced the Corsairs, early 50's I believe. I had a tin model of one when a child and the wings folded up and sparks shot out the tailpipe when you rolled it on the floor. Kinda like what I'd do, if it was Courtney.  :P

Thats funny.  :roflsmiley:  I did a little research and you are correct about he plane and here is what I found out for those that are interested - The Grumman F9F Panther was the manufacturer's first jet fighter and one of the U.S. Navy's first successful carrier-based jet fighters. The Panther was the most widely used U.S. Navy jet fighter of the Korean War, flying 78,000 sorties and scoring the first air-to-air kill by the US Navy in the war, the downing of a North Korean Yakovlev Yak-9 fighter. Total F9F production was 1,382, with several variants being exported to Argentina. The Panther was the first jet aircraft used by the Blue Angels flight team, being used by them from 1949 through to late 1954.
