Shipping Parts by Bus
« on: August 21, 2011 - 07:32:03 PM »
I'm buying some parts from a member here and we are going to ship them via Greyhound. Neither one of us have done this before does anyone have experience with this or any suggestions? Thanks,  Matt

I have done it.  No problems.

Aside from I had to drive 100 miles to the nearest hub.

Good luck!!

Put insurance on it too, just in case.

I've never lost a parcel shipping by Greyhound. Always fast delivery.

 :iagree:

A part was shipped to me via greyhound once and it was lost in their system for a week or so.  I made some calls and was able to coerce a greyhound employee into double checking visually and he found my package.

So, it took some effort on my part.  But it was safe and sound.  And I shipped once via greyhound and all went well.

So a 50% hit rate for my experience....LOL

I've shipped and received by Greyhound and it worked fine.  There is a Greyhound terminal just four miles from me--closer than UPS.  PK

The shipment went well. It was a total of 4 boxes (wheels). Two arrived in 3 days, the other two took 3 more days   :dunno:
It was going from east coast to Colorado. We took all of you suggestions and it went smooth. One thing we did learn is don't ship through a middle man ie; busfreighter.com you will pay about 1/3 more so take them directly to Greyhound. The other problem with that is the middleman will give you their tracking # which does not match Greyhounds. Shipments cannot be tracked unless they are sent priority. Thanks for all the help.
