    Hi everybody!...   Well I'm ready to kill this bad vibe once and for all...   After replacing the engine,fly,having the trans. out countless times and constantly messing with the thing, Driving it all over... The "newly gone-through" center section has a bunch of play in it. I'm done with the whole rear end. By this time there is little doubt it is the source of the vibration at speed. The shifter handle vibe is just a symptom... That can be dealt with later. Right now I'm looking for help in choosing a complete rear end unit. Probably a fabricated housing 8 3/4 Moser deal. Any thoughts?    I'm really looking to put this all behind me and get on with my resto. this year.   And I'm tired of making mistakes and feel like I need to run things by you people. I just don't have the knowledge and experience.  This place has made all the difference in the world to me.     Been lurking around... missn' this place.   R/T

    i had a brg flange support that was out of round , needed a whole new housing ! I would call Cass @ Doctor Diff & see what he can do for you , I would probably do a Dana

    Mark Williams is right up there in your neck of the woods. Might check in with them on what they have to offer. I've had them rebuild two different rears for two race cars. I supplied all the basics, but they did the gears, spools, bearings, axles and assembly. They're not cheap, but bulletproof when complete.

    Thanks CP!  Yeah a Dana isn't really much more $. Dr. Diffs prices are reasonable and he's Mopar. Montana isn't too far from me either. Going to call...

    HP2, My bro told me about Williams. I was looking into driveshafts. Their 60 rear assemblies are twice the price! 3500 min. That's a bit too much for me. But I'd love to have one!

    So the 60 is worth the extra coin?

    you will spend as much to build the 8 3/4  so the Dana is an good choice , the only downside is gear selection & swapable center section with the 8 3/4

    Dr. Diff quoted just under2500 shipped. Complete and assembled. 3:73(?) or 4:11(?) ish. What would u suggest there?    I'm probably going to pull the trigger this week. Go with it.  The only other thing is the u joint. I think
    Someone makes a conversion joint?   Or should I get my shaft redone?

    Check pricing with Moser & Strange but that seems reasonable
     I went with 3.55 gear unless you have OD
    Precision has the U joint maybe part # 371

    Will the 8 3/4 driveshaft bolt up to a Dana 60? I thought it would need shortening? :dunno:

    Robert the Dana is the king and maybe overkill in your car? IMHO

    The moser stuff is pretty cool but it's your call I would look at there mo9 lots of parts can be had cheaper for them and there pretty stout???

    Hey Scott!  Ya I thought the Dana was a bit much but it doesn't cost that much more money. I really like the looks of a fabricated housing though. It would really suit my build.  Going to call Moser for a price.  What exactly is the mo9 ? I like it!   8 3/4 center?  Descisions...descisions... 

    I am still running the 5 speed OD.

    The m9 (sorry no o) is the fab 9 inch ford yah I know it's a ford part but cheaper to build stronger than the 8 3/4 axel ends are better for rear disk than adding green bearings to the 83/4 gears are cheaper people know how to work on them. Did I say they are cheaper than MOPARs?.?

    I used the m8.75 in my car love the design got hooked into keeping it MOPAR now I'm looking for a new spar center section the chrisler stuff is twice as much as the ford stuff when your looking at race stuff super strong center sections.

    Almost all the major racing seris use the ford 9 inch NASCAR and circle track guy's&  most drag racers use them.

    If starting from scratch that's what I would do.

    But on the other hand I've not had problems with my 83/4 and I drive it hard but I do wonder if the green bearings will fail or is it just talk I don't really know until they do if ever they do I'll fix it.

    The Dana 60 is a legend icant deny that...
