Sorry to hear it Terry, been a tough couple years for sure.  Being a Small businessman myself I can understand.  Government has made more profit than my business has for a few years.

Good luck and hopefully the property goes quick.

Like other's have already said, real sorry to hear you're selling your shop.  :-\  Unfortunately the little guy gets the the shaft and big companies survive but the big companies don't have the same business sense and way of doing business the little guy does.  Real sorry to hear this.  Hope all works out for you.

Do you have any employees? Can you in any way continue doing the business out of your home?
Is there any way to cut your overhead, lay off the employees and keep the tools you need and pare the operation down to bare-bones? Can you rent the building out to someone else, at least until the real estate situation looks up (if it ever does)?
I have been cutting back for the last 2 years. I have been doing everything myself for the last year (removal, rebuild, reinstall, making tickets, test drives, sweeping the floor, dumping fluid buckets, carrying out the junk parts,) Man I'm tired! I can't do it any more. I will continue to build Torqueflites at home (cash only) the government can kiss my ass. My wife will probably go to full time at her work,I will have to be the one to pick the kids up from school (Mr. Mom?)

That's not entirely a bad deal.  I had to take medical time off and did the Mr. Mom thing for a bit and it was a mixed blessing.  Yeah, I had cancer but the time I spent with the kids was precious.  :2cents:

Terry,
I'm very sorry to hear about this, especially since one of my car plans has been to get a transmission built by you for the Challenger.  It just kept getting put off due to other priorities (not the car either...)

I'm glad you'll still be doing great transmissions...

Terry,
Sorry to hear that you have to close out your business.  I hope that continuing the business from home yields good fortune.
Bright side, more time with the family and any home improvements can be partially tax deducted as a business expense.
Good luck to –
Ron

Sorry to here this news Terry. There is no one to blame but our wonderful government. I hope it all works out great for you and maybe someday if America wakes up you can have another shop.

Terry,

From my view point, our economy is wrecked due in large part because of poor politics (on both sides) compounded by all of the recent imigration (legal & otherwise) wherein these individuals use all of our services (roads, schools, hospitals, etc) and yet they pay little to nothing in taxes because they have built cash trade within their social structures.  That leaves very few honest wage earners paying the tax burden of the masses.  What a mess!
