So far, I have 7, count 'em 7 entries, with the possibility of another 4 if my count is right. This is another way of saying that there might not even need to be a vote for the shots that make it into the calendar this year.

I think there are a lot of reasons for this, but I can say with certainty that there's almost a one-to-one correspondence between shots received that are ready to go and shots that have been turned down because they were too small. I think 5 people have been asked if they could get higher res shots, and IIRC only one has managed to get a higher res shot so far.

So, as one possible solution...we can forego the "no photoshopping" rule, and we can print any winning entries that are too small to print at full page size against another background. This is an idea Judy came up with (to give credit where due), and it would be somewhat artsy looking. The example Judy sent me had the car in color, centered on the page, with a black and white image of a garage behind it.

Is this a good idea? If we do it, would you want to see the shots that are too small to print full page notated in the poll? Are there dozens of people just waiting to send me shots, so that this might not matter?

I wish you did too. And I'm probably about 4000 miles away from it or else I'd go shoot it myself  :grinyes:

If you had 2 to 4 small photo's of members rides could you incorporate  them on one calendar page ( month)?

Interesting idea. I'm assuming that you mean, for the poll, we'd display all four images under one poll numner, so people would be voting for the entire group?

easiest......get your car out and go to a cemetary, large parking lot etc and shoot pix...plain background with the shadows behind the car (car facing the sun)...it's that simple...take lots of shots and you will always get several great shots (the Camaro was shot in a new section of our local cemetary, 1 block from my house)

...you don't need fancy equipment, my camera is an old one my wife won at a biz meeting years and years ago (I like free stuff)

...I usually take 50-150 pix...always get some really good ones, some not so good and usually a few blurry ones and at least one pix of my foot

...I spent less than 10 minutes shooting the Chevy, only took 30-40 shots

...come on, it's the weekend, do it !!!

I like this idea as well.  But perhaps you could have the voting broken in to a group of full page submissions and a group of photos for a collage page or two (or more if required).  And then allow the calendar editing team to put them together in what ever artistic fashion they see fit.  Not trying to make more work for you, but just a thought.

I think I was one who sent in a "small" picture, but I definitely intend to send in a large one next week.

Hey, Tommy. I'm not trying to call people out; just want to understand the issue, and see what I can do about it. And I don't think size is the only thing. Last year we had over 30 entries 2 weeks before the deadline, and we ended up in the 40s IIRC.

I have to believe that members are waiting until the deadline before submitting.  I know I am putting it off but will do something prior to the Oct 1 deadline.   :picture:

Any thought of putting a B body in there somewhere? Maybe devote a month or two to some other cool mopars?

I've been a member for a long time but never seem to have a restored E body ready for the calander submission.

I currently have my Challenger in a non running state because I pulled the 360 and dropped in the hemi.

But my Road Runner is very photogenic!
