K member photos and measurements
« on: September 18, 2011 - 12:48:53 AM »
Hey all,
I urgently need some reference photos and measurements of the RH (passenger side) motor mount bracket on the K member.
I've just welded up my K member (welded the seams, went over the shocking factory welds, and added a Firm Feel gusseting kit), and
welded the RH motor mount where it looked like it was supposed to be (it was loose/broken free). However when I went to fit it up to the motor and motor mounts, it didn't line up.
So I've cut out my new welds and need some pics and measurements to help me get it welded correct.

I'll post some photos of where I need measurements once I get a chance.
Hopefully someone has a K member handy that they can photograph and measure.

Cheers!

Here's the measurement that would be of most use:

and any photos from similar angles would be great.

No one has a K member they can measure or photograph?
I urgently need to get this sorted...

In case someone is able to help me out, I also would appreciate this measurement:

Cheers!
Aaron

Thanks!

3 and 7/16 inches?
Wow, that is a lot greater than the distance my K member currently has there...   No wonder things aren't lining up.

Does anyone have close up photos of this area? I can't find anything online.

I don't have measurements for you now. I won't be at my car location until Friday.
I can get you a confirmation but it might take me a week.

The engines' out of mine. I'll try to remember tomorrow to go and measure it, but someone may come up with it in the meantime.

Thanks so much guys, it will really help me out a lot.

Looking at that photo of Topcat's it seems like my whole RH engine mount bracket it shunted over and mashed into the body of the K member.
Great...

Time for the BFH

Is this urgent enough for ya.  I just saw the post.

Hope this helps.

Not that great of pictures but that should give you some measurements any way.

Looks like 3   9/16   and    14   11/16

My car had been in a decent accident which shunted the whole front over and twisted it torsionally.
The smack would have hit the RH frame rail up and the K member motor mount must have collapsed between motor and K member.

Slowly working my way through my cars sordid history...   It's had a hard life it seems.
Now it's getting all fixed up nice and straight(ish), ready for some more thrashing!
