Or you could just read my post above.

Exactly.....Cars get customised all the time.  After 40 years it's going to look like it came that way from the factory.  It didn't.

I have no idea if it's "factory" ( although I'm leaning towards.... I doubt it) but it doesn't look half bad!

Absolutely NOT from the factory. It doesn't look bad though.   :2cents:

I got ya.  I pretty much believe you Alien.

Just curious if there is any writing on the subject.

If there isn't any factory writing then all I can say is I heard it was not available.

So, I am just trying to get a copy for my large folder of mopar information.

Or you could just read my post above.

As Cuda Hunter, just curious about this as I have seen this feature on Dusters/Chargers, kind of neat to try to figure this out.  :)

Here's a reply from Barry,

"No canopy tops for e-bodies, but there were places that sold aftermarket 'kits' for them back in the day."

It does look kinda neat.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

If you look at the Color & Trim Selector, Data Book, and Saleman's Pocket Guides you only see a listing for Vinyl Roof. If there were multiple types they would list each. They don't since there is only one type.

If you went to say a 1974 Satellite, you might find mutiples there. Go check out the library at Hamtramck-Historical.

Bet that would be an valuable find for a kit.

I returned from SE Asia in '72 and then started college (among other things).   Got to be good friends with a guy who ran a "top shop" -- he put vinyl tops on cars (often the local dealerships would would order them plain and then my buddy would put them on and the dealer would sell it as a "dealer installed option"  I'm guessing the dealer made more this way than from the factory.....     I often helped him out - he was putting half tops, padded tops, etc.... on anything that anyone wanted.   He could do 4 or 5 of these a day at $75 a pop... not bad change back in the day.      I'll defer to the experts - but my money is on this pic is an aftermarket and they were not "original."

Canopy, halo and landau tops were common on B-bodies. They weren't available on E-Bodies.

Hello, to all in the Mopar world. I may or may not have something to add to this topic. I've recently picked up a 70 barracuda, w/half vinyl top stainless on it from an original owner. hate to beat a dead horse. But what do you think??? :horse:

Let's see the fender tag.  That will tell the world.

I dream of finding a cuda in that condition.  Must be an awesome story.  Please elaborate.
