Car Cover Recommendations?

Who can recommend a good car cover? In theory, the car will not be stored outside.

I tried a cover last winter and it scratched the chrome on the tail panel trim.  I'm not going to use one again.  The bodyshops I've visited all use 3m plastic to drape over the cars.  That's what I'm going to use.

For indoors, I'd simply sew a couple flannelette bed-sheets together. Double them up if you want a little bit of protection.

For what it's worth, I have a stormweave cover on mine in case it rains at Carlisle.   :grinyes:

California car covers offers a few more choices though...

I purchased a cover for car cover planet.  I'm pretty happy with it.  Mainly used it over winter to keep the dust off.  It's not too hard to put on or take off.  And I bought a large plastic storage bin to keep in in when not in use.

Seemed to be the best buy for the money when i was looking.

I actually have one of their Superweave covers for my R/T. It 's kept outside 24/7 and it works well against both rain and sun. Very thin though. Would offer no real protection against hail, falling branches etc.

A little off topic but does anyone know how to keep cats off your car cover? Mine have access to the garage most of the time and they like sleeping on the nice soft cover.  :pullinghair:

Don't they keep the mice away? :)
I've heard cats don't like the lemon scent you get from pledge or similar.  You could mist the cover with it and see?

Yeah they earn their keep for sure.  I set fake rattlesnakes on the hood and roof which worked for a while till they got too interested.

my cat has a very very comfortable place to rest her royal feet.  On the ground next to the car.  It`s a lot better than the carcover and she also has great view over the floor to spot any uninvited guests.  I love having my cat in the garage  :2thumbs:

They have several nice bedding places but seem to like the height of the Challengers roof also. As silly as it sounds (and appears) the perimeter is lined with cardboard boxes to prevent them jumping up on the car.

I had some luck with sections of old plastic painters sheeting so may try that along with the lemon scent.

Not to sway away from car covers subject too much.

Cats like those pizza beds you find in pet stores.
Just get one or more of them and they'll go to that in the garage instead of walking all over the car cover.
