Curious about fate of a car
« on: September 22, 2011 - 09:20:59 PM »
About 25 years ago the guy who owned the Jeep-Subaru dealership in Leesburg, VA had a green 70 RT/SE Hemi. Does anyone have any idea what happened to that car?

Without a vin # I would think that's like finding a needle in a Haystack.
Even with a Vin number; still may be difficult to locate.

I figured there weren't too many RT/SE Hemis to begin with, so it might be the kind of thing that would stand out in someone's mind if they had encountered the car or the guy.

Well good luck on the search. If you find it, please post pics.

Pics are one of the things that got me started on this idea. I interviewed the guy back in the day for a piece I was trying to sell to a mag. I may still have the pics I took of it then, but it was stuffed in a warehouse with his 40-50 other cars, so there's not much to see,

Originally there was 60 built 37 auto & 23 4 spd
I was at the Mopar nats years ago & I found a dark green Hemi R/T SE , it had 80,000miles on it
later I saw the car again & was still drooling , turned out to be a different car , with 42,000 on it , I believe both were 4 gear so that leaves 21 more & there where what 18 colors available ??
Crazy !!

I'm pretty sure this one was an automatic, but it's been so long...  I actually got to slide behind the wheel, which in this case, considering how tight these cars were packed in, was an actual slide. If the car had been two or three cars closer to the door I think he would have let me take it out for a spin. Would've been nice.
