Adjustable rockers (273)
« on: September 22, 2011 - 10:12:50 PM »
Bought some of the 273 adjustable rockers for the 340.  Also bought the TA 340 style pushrods.  I have a .484" lift hydraulic purple shaft in the engine.  Now it seems like a few of the rockers are just barely touching the valvesprings when the valve is fully closed.  They are so close that I can clear the rocker by rotating the spring (coil in a different position).  Any ideas?

the spring may be a larger diameter from the stock spring , you can shim up the rocker shafts , not the best way or just grind a bit of clearance under the rocker arm , do not leave any sharp ridges where you grind though , make it very smooth

Yeah, the spring diameter is actually a little larger than the retainer.  Worked on it a little.  Seems to do fine.
