Looks like I'm going to replace the entire drivetrain this winter. I'm building a 451", Keisler auto OD set up and a Dana 60 rear end.
What would the entite running drive train be worth? I'd like to sell it to someone who could come and hear it running, drive/ test it before I rip it all out? 440 long block with new Demon 850 carb, new holley street dominator intake, new distributor, I'm wanting to keep starter, water pump pullys, power steering pump.

727 with driveshaft ( for Challenger)
 8 3/4 ( 489 ) 3:55 sure grip, might keep the brakes/backing plates...?

Brad,

you should easly get $3500 to $5000 for the whole setup, I think on the higher ens since they will be able to hear it run and take it out for a test drive before they buy it.

How many miles on the old 440, 727, 8 3/4?

The 440 and 727 were both said to be rebuilt. I was told the 440 was out of a motorhome. I have no idea what " rebuilt" meant to the guy I bought the car off. I have no idea what pistons are in it. I do need to run premium fuel in it or it pings.  I did rip off the old cast iron intake and replace it with a new Holley street dominator and it was very clean inside , like new! I would say it's a pretty mild cam in it .Mild street /RV type cam? The 727 I took the pan off changed the filter and fluid and it too was clean.   The 8 3/4 chunk I bought off a member on here so I have no idea the mileage on it?  It's a 489, sure grip, with 3:55 gears. All I did was change the pinion seal before I even installed it. Figured it was much easier to do at that point. :grinyes: I have no idea the mileage on any of it, but it does appear to be all fresh.

I thought about keeping it all " just in case" but if I keep it I know I'll end up with another car to put it in! :smilielol: and I just don't have the garage space!

I'm hoping sometime in Late May early June this will all be available? Would be good for someone local? We could take it out for a test drive before I pull it all out.

Brad,

Any thought to going with a manual 5 or 6 speed when you do the change out?

Are you willing to split any of it up? That rear end is fairly desirable

Ya sure, but the problem is shipping?  I have someone local interested in the motor ? Talk is cheap though, haven't seen any money yet?

I was thinking $3500 for all of it?
