Need Advise

I currently own a 70 Barracuda 318 car with a 383 in it now. Needs resto but the only metal to replace is the center trunk pan. I finnaly gathered all the hard to find parts(grill,headlight bezels,header ect...)  Now the problem i have i found a 72 'cuda 340 4spd car #'s match it is sitting in primer and needs little to complete. What do you guys think should i keep the 70 or sell it and buy the 72 4spd cuda?
I don't know what to do just looking for some advise. Thanks

If you want investment and get the most for your money keep the 70....
if you like the 72 better get it. By the way if you dont get the 72 please give burpin a shot. Burpin likes 72

I have to disagree with Burpin on this one. IMH the '72 will fetch more. The '70 would fetch more had it been complete.
The '72 being a numbers car and with some nice options will fetch more. Then again you could clone the 70 but thats big dollars.  ;)

AT LEAST WITH THE 72 YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE, PRIMER HIDDES LOTS OF BAD STUFF, KEEP THE ONE YOU HAVE. BECAUSE YOU HAVE IT ALL READY.  :thumbs:

The grass isn't always greener on the other side you know.  :laughing:  If you like one over the other, pick that one. If you want to go by value alone, the '70 will always be easier to sell & probably hold more value in the end. The numbers matching car is desirable to certain people, but in all honesty, not to me. My '71 was a 318 car that now has a 400 inside. I like the car for what it is, & it wouldn't matter to me if it was still a 318 car or not. A big block car will get more & I'd be willing to pay more to have more, but it all depends on the rest of the car.

The amount of rust or the wear on the vehicle, the color combination, the option list are all factors. In the last few years it seems that 4 speed cars are really hot items & sell quickly. I wish one of mine were a 4 speed, but oh well. Body work is the most expensive, & probably the hardest to truly estimate in terms of cost, damage & time. If you think the '70 needs almost nothing body wise, then that may be cheaper for you in the end. I'm guessing that both cars in your garage is not an option? That's my problem, I can't decide what I want.

It all depends on what floats your boat.  If you are interested mostly in the value of the car, I guess I would keep the 70.  If you are all for #'s matching I would go with the 72.  I have always wanted a 71 cuda, but when I found my 72 I settled for that (not that it was hard to do, I almost passed out when I saw it in person and realized this casr was going to be mine).  Turns out, I am so happy with it.  I love the grille very much and I think I would actually keep mine over a 70.  Now if it was a 71 my answer would be shoert and simple LOL.  Bet I didn't do any more than confuse you!  Sorry...   :???:

I say if you are looking for a car to keep stock I would go with the 72 because it has all the good options right from the factory.  With a 340 and a 4 spd it just doesnt get any better to me at least.  Now if you want a car to be a real screamer and make the car just how you want it then I would say stick with your 70.  That car is not stock already and you can build it just how you like.  Thats what my eventual plan is to do with my 71 challenger.  I like the 70s better then the later ones and I have a 73 barracuda. 
Too many projects and nothing gets done.

has anyone look at prices on ebay and at some auctions lately when they talk about the 72-74 cars, Ive seen some sell on ebay 340-4spd cars go for more that 20k (granted it was a #2 car) , how many clones not being a 440-6 or hemi cars go for that being a 70 (some not alot) , I keep this one.

Keep em both, wait until Barrett-Jackson and watch the feeding frenzy and you'll be glad you did. I think the 72-74 E's are about to move up ( esp the true rallye cars and cudas) as the 70-71 cars begin to get priced out of the everyday collector's price range. Like said above, the $$ on the nice later cars on e-bay, even nice automatic cars is starting to top 20K. These were 10K cars 1 1/2-2 years ago.

Buy the 72 then sell one of them to me for half the price :D:D i'd pick up both if its in your fundins...also...Burpin.. I t hink you need togive beam ashot at a cuda LOL...i think hes gonna go nuts if he don't pick up a cuda soon....
