cuda/chally interior compatability?
« on: October 08, 2011 - 09:04:32 AM »
I am wondering if the panels inside a challenger are the same as a cuda.

I know the door panels are different.  Is that the only real part that is different?

I am trying to think of a single part that would fit both , the dash , seat frames & rear seat base is all I can come up with

Do any of these parts fit.  I thought these were the same across the board.

OK you got me  , THE KICK PANELS & TRIM AROUND THE WINDSHEILD  would be the same , so pillar covers ,sunvisors ,  all dash parts interchange, not sure about seat backs , the seat pattern changes so the rear cover may as well . The seatbelt cover should be identical as well . The carpet is different I believe as the wheel base length is different , although it may just overlap more in the shorter Cuda  . Rear view mirror is the same also

Just talking 1970 here... these are the same for Cuda & Challenger:

Front & Back Seat Frames and hinge covers (covers are only different)
Dash frame (pad is different)
Rallye & Standard dash
Light bar
Radio
steering column
heater cables
vent / defrost plastic tubes
Headliner bows? (Not 100% on this one)
"A" pillar trim should also be the same
Ash tray
Glove Box
Heater or A/C box
Cold air vent
Brake & Gas pedal
E brake
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I'm not sure the standard dash was the same.  Did the Cuda use the ribbed dash that the 70 Challenger did?  I don't know Cudas' that well. I know the standard dash with the optional wood grain bezel is the same for both cars. The rallye dash was the same.

I do believe the dash bezels are the same.?

I do recall there being some differences in 1970.  Ribbed I think.

I had to look it up. Barracuda standard was just a black bezel.  The Challenger standard is ribbed.  The guages are the same individual pieces but the cluster housing is different.  The ribbed bezel and the black bezel use a different cluster housing. The Barracuda black bezel had the metal woodgrain added to it to make the woodgrain bezel.  SE's had it as an option as did all Challengers with the standard dash.  I don't know about the Barracuda GC breakdown.
