I tried to BS the Security guy into letting me drive up to the Blimp, but he was having no part of that!!!
Still not a bad picture from the road......  Too bad I run BFG's

I was able to talk some folks into letting me in for some photos Sunday morning. The Blimp pic was taken Saturday.
They had some fun with me.....  I'm outside the fence, I'm asking to get in and they're talking,  trying to decide if they're going to let me in. After a minute or so, one of them says it's not  OK, but it would be OK if it were anything but a MOPAR!!!!!!
They were a great bunch of people!!!

You guys were kind enough to pay me some nice compliments and now it's gone to my head......
I was ''Home Alone'' tonight, so I thought let's get some more pics.......
I took a ton of pictures, these are the best.

I saw this Indiana State Trooper Charger at the Gun Store. I asked the State Trooper if he'd be interested in taking some pictures with an old Challenger. He was into it, no arm twisting required. I know it's not an E Body, but I think these look SWEEEEET!!!!
THANK YOU to the Trooper for his time!!!!!!!

If they had let you through you would have had a hard time getting all of the blimp in the shot like you did. Would have been nice to have been on the other side of the  fence, though

Cool...cool shots!
Those are AT-6's (trainers), and a Corsair.
My Dad owned one when I was a kid and I used to sit in it all the time.
My Dads was always in primer, but it still brings back memories.

That bird with Navy markings should be an SN-J, the Navy version of the "T-6", but I don't see a tail hook.  PK

Tommy, do you mean your Dad had a Corsair?! OMG, if I ever won a huge lotto, that's one of the FIRST things that I'd buy! They made a 28 cylinder version to chase down kamikazes and apparently, it'd do near 500mph at sea level. What a monster. Airplanes and cars...aahhh! now if we had some honeys and single malt, we'd have died and gone to Heaven! Glen, nice car and nice photos!

No corsair.
My Dad was in the aviation business starting right after ww2, and he did own an at6 and an F6F for many years, and a P61 for a few years.
He and a partner of his that provided the mechanical skills would get them running again.
Actually, I think they actually flew each of them out of the desert where they came from, and they mostly sat after that. Back in the 50s and 60s almost anyone with a pilots license, a few bucks and mechanical know how could have owned one.

And here is where the usual regrets come in:
Like everyone that ever "used to own" a hemi ebody can tell you, I wish we still had that F6F. From what I understand there are none left, at least in flyable condition. The last pristine example crashed a few years ago. Could have been my Dads old plane for all I know. It was sold back in the late 70s after my Dad died, and his former "partner" ripped us off. We didnt get a penny.
I heard most of them were destoryed in the 40s and 50s in old war movies, because they slightly resembled jap zero's, they blew lots of them up. No computer generated graphics back then!
