hew guys and gals,i just bought my 1st ever e-body 74challenger 318 auto with a/c always had b-bodys,so ill be asking alot of dumb questions so please bare with me.1st time with a small block dont know if im going to pull the 318 and put a 440 in it yet. was told you can get 400hp out of a 318.a stock 440 i think would be cheaper to do.anyone have a rough idle how much to build a 318?not to craze just something with some guts.thank you

dave is fine.i will try to put up pics in next day or so.i hope one day i will have a 440 challenger like yours.wife wants it crazy plum purple.i just want a 440 in it.miss my 69 rt 440 charger but after 17 yrs it became more of a pain then joy.always wanted a challenger.im not to much into matching numbers.ive asked guys about parts and they dont reply back,why bother saying your selling and not reply,guess its not meant to be.im in lex,sc maybe one day ill see your car at a show.

I agree getting more Power from a big block is a better recipe than squeezing 400 hp out of a 318 , it will definatly last longer !! You can look at a 400 block & do a 451 stroker build or the 512" combo in the 440 block , even the 383 can be stroked out to 436 " just some more options !
