I want to trade my '74 Vette for a 'Cuda
« on: October 10, 2011 - 05:12:38 PM »
I have always wanted a Cuda...ALWAYS....but somehow ended up with Corvettes....
I'll take any year from 70 - 74...any engine (or none at all)...just need a straight body and interior there (interior can be trashed as long as it's there!)
My Vette would sell for $11K - $13K....

So here's the question....do you think there are any Cudas like I described in my price/trade range ?

Well I think you would do better selling the car then buying a cuda vs trading. I'll pm you some craigslist finds in a few minutes.

Welcome
Have you been looking at our site for long?
There are a LOT of knowledgeable people in here, and LOTS of information available just by using the search tool.
I would think for $11-$12k you can find a basic barely running 72-74 cuda, though for a 70-71 it will only fetch a straight roller, unless you get lucky and stumble across the right barnyard at the right time.
Meangreen has been doing a lot of research online looking for a car also. He's found some interesting deals.
Keep in mind, you may have to travel to get the best deal on a car, but being in California probably gives you the best location.
Good luck

Yep, I tend to agree....Cuda way cooler than a '74 Vette...Now ifn' we's talkin' a 1966 427 Tri power 4 gear, well, It might be in the same range of coolness..

Biggest mistake I've ever made (car wise) was selling my 71 LS5 4spd convertible.

LS6 was the rare model equivalent in low production numbers to the Hemi E-bodies.

LS5 454 engine production amounted to 5,097 units, LS6 454 engine was only 188 units (200 with the ZR2 included) and LT1 350 hit 1,949 units.

Even so, I think there was less than a 1000, convertible 4spds.

Being a Mopar man (and knowing little about Chebbies) I was once begged to buy a non wrecked 1967 427 Aluminum block tri powered Vette with knock off wheels, side pipes and leather upholstery for $1800.00 back in 1978.  I didn't buy it.   :-[ If I remember correctly the guy claimed there were only about 20 made in that  color (green) with white leather upholstery and the above options.

Saw what you will about chevvies, those are some sharp cars. I'd never trade my Challenger for once (or anything else) but if I ever get a chance to own one, I'll be a happy guy.

I would not say no to a ss396 or ss454 chevelle they were pretty nice cars but not nearly a cool as some of the mopars of the time. Plus mopar interiors are so much better eye candy!!
