Starter issue????
« on: October 11, 2011 - 08:56:53 PM »
So had the cuda out on the weekend (first time in 3 weeks). :swaying:

After a short drive and stop, when I restarted the car, it made a weird clicking sound...it almost sounded like the battery was low and the starter was clicking, but it started quickly.    It made the same sound a little while later after getting home.

So I am thinking the starter may be going bad...does that sound reasonable?  Is there anythign else I should be looking at???

well the last 15 threads on this have been corrosion / poor contact or bad start relay , so start with the easy stuff , clean all the connections , make sure the battery is good , starters Rarely fail on a Mopar unlike gm

Oppsss..sorry! :-[

Hmmm....battery cables, battery, and started realy are only a couple of years old....I checked them quickly and they seemed tight, but I will check a little closer!

Thanks,

 :iagree:

I had to get mine flat bedded home a couple months ago. It made a hard clicking noise but wouldn't start. Turned out to be the battery cable. You couldn't see in it but it had "the green death" inside of it. Bought a new one at my local Mopar dealer for under $50 works good now!
