emergency brake handle retainer

Does anyone know where you can get the small plastic retainer that goes on the emergency brake release handle.  It holds the handle in place and holds a spring back?

I was missing the same part.  I used a spare crimp clip used on brake shoes to keep the spring posts in.  But if you are looking for 100% correct, this won't help you.

I actuallly used a valve stem cap.  Took a plastic one and drilled a hole in then sltit the side.  I don't how long it will be on there though.

You could probably use a really small rubber grommet if you can't find the original plastic clip.  I looked on R/T Specialties website but didn't see the correct one.

Spoke with R/T specialities and they didn't have one but thought the one for the hood latch release handle may work.  They are checking on it for me and are supposed to be in touch today.  By the way what is a E clip.

I used a piece of nylon tubing.  I removed the handle and slipped on a 2" piece then heated the end near the spring so I could make a bulge larger than the spring to act as a retainer.  I left the tubing long enough to act as an anti-rattle cushion in the orifice that supports the rod near the handle.  Working perfectly!  PK

I used a wire grommet, though I don't remember where I got them, maybe RadioShack.  I just cut the end off, slit it, and pushed it over the rod and into the hole.

I know this thread is a bit dated but I wanted folks to know you can find a 1/4" bushing from Osh that is a great replacement!!!

The white piece is what you need, I left the remaining piece which works like a washer.
