    Whats this transmission?

    I just picked up a free March '69 cast 383 with 906 heads and a transmission.  The number off the transmission is PK2892088L 2593 5239.  Can anyone tell me what year and model and what engine this came off of?  How do I check to see if it matches the 383?  (Doubt it)  I'm not sure where the sequential production number is located on each.

      The date code 2593 looks right however i have no doumentation on the trans part number. Nice pickup :thumbs:

    thanks for the info.  yeah, I've looked for the part number too but all I could find was -87 and -89.  no -88.  Wonder what the L means too?
