Looking forward to winter...
« on: October 14, 2011 - 07:48:29 PM »
wait, what, did I really type that.

Anyone else looking forward to diving into winter projects?

I have 4 or 5 little things and 2 big projects that I am hoping to tackle this winter.  I may only get the small ones done due to funds, but I am looking forward to diving into them nonetheless.

Probably have a few more oppotunites to pull the car out befor the snow flies, so I am hesitant to tear into things just yet, but still want to!!!

Maybe I will pull apart my spare steering columns and start that project!!

I guess you could say I'm looking forward to winter . . . . . . . but I would much rather it was summer!     Winter has some good points . . . get to work on some of the indoor projects . . .then there is bowling and billiards.

I will say that it can be beautiful . . . . but lets hurry up and get back to summer.   :eek4:

Ya? well who cares anyhow!  :sly:

:roflsmiley:  I can see it now, your gonna be like my inlaws and watch the weather channel and wait till they see it's like -30 , then phone and say listen to this ( as the swish there hand in the pool) and say we have a wind chill factor of 80 here :bricks1:

Actually this winter should be pretty good "Challenger wise" as I'm planning on replacing the entire drivetrain. Driving to Carlisle next year should be REALLY enjoyable!   :grinyes:

They are NEVER "done" .... that's just a little white lie we tell our wives!  :grinyes:

I'm looking forward to pulling the old reliable 440 out for a teardown and inspection. After years of running it down the track and shifting at 6800 rpm I'm thinking I've been living on borrowed time for to long. Now if I can just convince the wife that it's better in the long run to get a stroker kit than to mag the crank and replace the bearings, ect, ect. :misbehaving:

Convince her using the analogy..."It's like when your refrigerator stops keeping things cold and it's time to get a new one."

She can relate to that!  :grinyes:

I enjoy winter for a while, but after Christmas is over...I'm ready for warm weather again!! Most of North Carolina gets a pretty uneventful winter, but living in the high country of North Carolina where I do...yikes!!! There's no classic car driving, short sleeve wearing, moonshine running weather to be found in these Appalachian mountains for a few months  :(  But maybe the good Lord will bless us with a few nice days that climb up into the low 40's and where salt isn't covering the road, so a man can give his classic car the spin it so desperately wants.

I guess, in a way, I am looking forward to winter. I always seem to get a lot more done on my project without the distraction of nice weather.

Actually, I'm looking forward to cooler weather.  Haven't had the Dodge out in a couple of months and a little rain will knock down the dust on the dirt road.

Snow started here in the Sierra's a week ago. Cold weather is just around the corner.
Today was unusally hot here.

I work better when it's cool out here.
It is a blessing not sweating the whole day working on it.
