I want to introduce two 70s located in south Germany. 1 is my 1970 Dodge Challenger, the other one is myself. Ok, I survived the last 41 years, have no rust jet and run without gas.
Whenever I tried to find some information about the Challenger I ended up here, so I thought, I will join this great community.
The Challenger is a 440 Magnum R/T clone now, was built in 9/69 (door sticker) in Los Angeles and came with a 383 engine. Unfortunately there are no fender tags anymore and I miss the history since ~2004. I have the title from the last owner in the LA area and will try to contact him this winter. He sold the car on ebay back in 2007 to a German guy, who sold it again this year. Now it is in good hands and I like to keep it forever. Will register in the Hamtramck Registry too.
The Challenger was rebuilt and repainted outside in America, maybe one day I will know where. I think it was built for the quarter mile, as it has automatic transmission with a fully manual valve body, a blocked rear axle, edelbrock aluminum headers, edelbrock performer rpm intake manifolds, ede crab and so on. The exhaust side has hedman ceramic coated headers and magnaflow mufflers.
Recently I renewed some window seals, reconditioned the tail lights and front turn signal lights and a lot of little things you all know, that needs to be done. Last week I cleaned both quarter panels, cause they were full of wet dust and dirt, which cause some rust on the lower section of the quarter panels.
The car makes me addicted to. So please let me know, what is important to look for. Over the winter the front and rear axle gets reconditioned, also the suspension.
