Well, we're moving back to Texas yall. (San Antonio)
« on: October 22, 2011 - 10:48:52 PM »
Some stuff happened here at my job where I was on a wellsite and the production company we were working for wanted to do a job in very unsafe conditions. As the service supervisor I told them I would not put my guys or the other personnel working around us at risk because it wasn't worth it. Long story short, the first day my management backed me. Then we had equipment issues which put us behind. The following morning my management tried to make me do the job, even after I told them how unsafe it was, just because we were behind. At this point I started looking for a job.

Well, I found a better job, with WAY less stress, where I will be working on wellsites by myself (still with a coil crew, but I won't have anything to do with the coil equipment, so no headache from breakdowns either) and making more money, plus I will be home earlier from jobs since I will only be worrying about my stuff and myself.

So we found a house in Converse and will be down there around the 2nd or 3rd. We are super excited to be close to our families again! AND.......the average temp in San Antonio is 95. No more winter!!!!

Hopefully we'll run into some car people down there, and maybe some of yall are from that area. Gonna miss alot of things about PA, but we are definitely glad to be getting back.

Congratulations!

Did I ever tell you the story of my Military ETS from TN?

Got snowed and stuck at an off ramp in San Antonio, TX.
It was my bad luck this happened at a major truck stop.
20, 18 wheelers behind me. Not Happy! :villagers:

They literally picked up my a$$ end of my car and moved it so they could all drive by and left me there.

This happened in a freak storm in 83'.

Good deal! I've got a lot of family and friends getting back into or just getting into the biz back in Oklahoma. My old Coach and teacher went back to doing the land deals and my sister works for Chesapeake doing account management. Some high school friends are working on rigs.

Glad your headed home to TX, even though the UT Longhorns suck.

Mike, that's a pretty crappy story. Yeah, there is a lot of work in south Texas for the oilfield.
