I have been lurking around for a while but since I just won a auction for my dream car I thought I would introduce myself as I will be on here asking quite alot I am sure.
Here is the listing:
This is a very nice, fully restored real 1972 340, 4-spd Cuda, not a converted Barracuda. It has a nonmatching 1971 340 engine with a real 340 sixpac setup from an AAR Cuda. The intake and air cleaner are original. I cannot guarantee the originality of the carbs. The car has new quarters, paint, seat covers, carpeting, headliner etc. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The frame rails, floors, trunk pan are all excellent. It has new tires on painted 15" wheels. The car runs beautiful and can be driven anywhere. The fender tag is missing, but a very nice original build sheet was there. I also have an old title from 1976 to help document the owner history. The Plum Crazy paint is of a very nice driver quality. This car is very tight and other than the shifter handle doesn't have a rattle anywhere. It is not a super show car, but would make a great car for any collection. You would be hard pressed to build this car if somebody gave it to you for what I am willing to sell it for.
I won for 18102.00 plus need to ship it to Georgia from Mass. I think I did ok for a 340 4 speed 6 pack.
First question I am planning to have it shipped with Direct Express Auto Transport, they quoted me 1184.00 and have good reviews and rated with BBB with an A+ rating. Any opinions?
Second is does anyone have any firsthand knowledge with this car?
My goal is to convert to probably XV level II front and rear suspension, someones 4 wheel disc then eventually probably a modern hemi and 6 speed. Maybe change to Panther Pink as that has been my dream for 25 years now. Minimum paint changes will include blacked out tail panel, hood, fender tops like AAR, grille, front spoiler and all chrome - bumpers and trim.
