Alternate dash finishes

I was doing some planning over the weekend and got to thinking about some interior refinishing.

Any one ever seen the guage cluster done in textured argent? I would imagine this would also carry over to the door inserts as well to help unify it all.

I've also sure there is some one out there doing carbon fiber lithographs of this type of deal. Originally thought aboutdoing  that, but thought it was a bit high tech looking for my low tech car. Although, with the Supra buckets, it might blend together decent.

Anyone played with Totally Auto's textured argent in a can? How's it rate?

not argent, but I went with a semi gloss balck on my rallye cluster.

I also removed the woodgrain from the centre console, to tie it all in!.

That did turn out nice.

I'm actually converting mine to a post 71 B body multi-pod unit, which is factory finished in the fake woodgrain. I was thinking the argent finish with black faced gauges would be different, but black with white gauges would look really nice as well.

I have been considering the same.   I guess this stuff would get scarred too easily, but, it sure is nice looking and seems easy to install from the videos I have seen

I'm thinking for mine in being a more unifying theme through out the car. Textured argent on the front and rear light panels and inside doing the dash, door inserts and console.

Maybe its time for some photoshop work to see how good or bad it may be.

Yeah the bezel surounds and the outline on the panels are raw aluminium.

I striped the brown paint from the surounds with a red scuff pad.  The finish looks polished in the pics but is really more of a machined look.  The trick is to go in a single circular motion with the scuff pad once all the paint is removed.  Thats it, nothing more.  It is all in the deatail, as the bare aluminim marks fairly easy.
