I've had a few real bad ones in the yard already, but none that hard.

Of particular interest to those of us in the muscle car hobby, our cars aren't built nearly as safe as that Ford Focus...... I was in a Super Bee going almost 160 mph back in the day, coming to a sudden stop like that was definitely a concern at the time!

Have a look at crash tests with the 58 chevy on you tube, it will make you think twice
about speeding in your muscle car

Obviously we don't have to worry about that; we drive MOPARs, not cheby for that exact reason  :grinyes:

Is this the video you were referring to?

As for that focus... well this  :misbehaving: sums it up pretty well... Duct tape, zip ties, and some twisty ties and its all better!

This made we wonder about what it would take to retrofit an air bag in an old car, driver only.
It actually would be pretty simple, need to have a couple sensors/switches across the front, then adapt a steering wheel with an airbag.

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

yep your right about that,,I saw this happen in my drivers mirror after I passed the little ranger truck pulled over to the side,,It happened a few weeks back http://www.lebanonenterprise.com/content/father-son-killed-accident-springfield-highway  I saw the log truck hit this ford ranger on impact in my drivers mirror , it was horrifying to see the impact of the big truck hitting the ranger truck and the damage that unfolded ,  it  was bad and unsettled me..,The log truck hit the ranger doing about 55mph as the ranger tried a u turn,, and the log truck hit right on the drivers door of the ranger truck as it pulled out and didnt see the log truck,it was so quick that there was no way for avoiding an impact,,all I could do was thank god I wasn't involved in the wreck ..I drive alot on the road and have seen many wrecks,,but this one was scary and there are no words to explain it,,the devastation of a wreck like this is unreal.
