And that is an area that I'm concerned about as well. The outer wheel housing really angles down at a steep angle. It might have to have some angle taken out of it and made more square to get it to really sit down in the rear.
I'm going up to the shop tomorrow to pull the Dana and will try to shoot some pics of the wheel housings but my phone camera doesn't have a flash so they might not turn out good enough to post.

Go-Fish,
What I did was order two new inner left and right wheel tub halves which go almost straight up and down (not angled in) and used the left for the right and right for the left to stretch the outer halves for more room. I took these and basically sectioned out the upright area i wanted, cutting out the angled portion on the outers and welding in the section from the inners which is more upright. This allowed a fairly easy fitment since they were the same radius, etc. I did have to modify the uni-body section that attaches to the outer wheel tub since this area became taller. I kept the factory lips that attach to the quarter wheel area, etc. so I wouldn't have to recreate that.

I hope that makes sense.

Wes

With the tires where I want them I have about an inch before it hit the tub :( Almost could get away with not having to worry!

Went up to the shop again today. I had a little time to play around. We set each wheel exactly where we wanted them and pulled tape for the rear end narrowing, 57.25". Identified that the lower bars will be moved to but up against the frame rail and the leaf spring pads need to go inboard 2.75".

This is just where I want the wheel.

Mini tubbing really req'd?

There's a Swede here I think that has a '70 AAR green clone with XV Level II suspension and I don't think he had to minitub with 18x12s and 335s???

 :dunno:
I'm norwegian  :nono: hehe

I didn't minitube, but it is about how much you want to drop it. My rear is a little of center, but I'll work with it this winter and see if I can get it a little lower. I guess I can get it to ride in a lower static stance. But it you want airbags on it you'd probably have to minitube it. I have a B-body 8-3/4, XV suspension with 1" doctordiff springhangers and 18x12" with 6.5" BS.

The problem does not really lie in the depth of the factory tubs as much as it does the height of the tubs and the uniformity. The height of the outer tub is not  as high as the inner one. The outer tub angles down very sharply toward the area where it meets the 1/4 panel.

A solution would be. like stated earlier, to get a left side outer wheel housing and invert it and put it on the outboard RIGHT side. Vice versa for the other side. This is the real clearance issue.

How tall are those tires, just wondering how much ground clearance you are going to have with the exhaust assuming a stock floor, maybe you can put the mufflers where the stock resonators used to be to gain some clearance??

Which wheels are those?  They really look awesome on your car!  The fact that you got them to fit without tubbing has me thinking.....

Thanks. I, obviously, still have a few things to do but it shouldn't be too long now.
