I'll bet she doesn't have her job long. Not that she wasen't justified in arresting the goof! If she just let it slide and the morron had killed someone imagine how much crap she would be in!
I gotta wonder though... was pulling her gun on another officer REALLY nesessary? :eek7:  PMS maybe?

I for one think it's a great thing. I know you guys see it all the time. Say things like "Dang! Must be happy hour at the local Dunkin' Donuts!" and move right along. I see this everyday. Cops speeding with no siren or lights on. they think because THEY are late, they can speed. We try that and BANG! ticket. Good on the chick for bustin' his reckless driving ass. Bout time..Think they are above the law.

2 thumbs up for her!  :2thumbs:

But yeah, I agree, if we did that we would be in jail more than likely.

What isn't shown on this video is that there is more when she meets a couple Miami officers the next morning to pick the car up.  She tells the two officers that they have seen this car frequently speeding through there and it has always got away from them.
You can see that part on this version of the report:

The arresting officer was cool, calm, collected and a very good driver.  Although, she likely was aware of this officers habit of racing to his moonlight job and made sure she was at the right place and time to pursue him.    He should have been fired though.

I think that would depend on how we would reacted.
I have to confess I was arrested once for doing 113mph (which I was going much faster before that) in a 70.   The arresting Missouri State Trooper clocked me as he was coming head on.  I had no idea, till several miles down the road when  I saw lights in my rear view waaayyyyy behind me.  I knew, pulled over and waited.  I kept my cool and he was actually very polite about everything.   He told me he would let me go with a warning, but because it took so long to get turned around and had no idea of what I would do as far as trying to run, he had called to report me in during the pursuit time.  Because of that, and I wasn't driving like the idiot this guy was, he had to take me in.  Yes, I do believe he would have let me go with the warning.   There are more details to the story, but there was no emergency for me to get to, no traffic (at least on my side of the highway), and I didn't know this guy.  I was completely cooperative and not a jerk.   I even rode in the front of the car to jail, joked about things, and once I posted bond, he took me back to my car!  :bigshades:
I know not all officers react the same way, but if you get caught , cooperate, and pay your dues if you are guilty.  Hopefully your cooperation will lessen repercussions.  :2thumbs:

It happened here in Miami so its been all over the news. I dont know if he should lose his job, but he certainly should at least be punished/suspended without pay, and have to go to court like anyone else.
I'll never forget reading a series in the Miami Herald about 10-12 years ago where they researched Miami police issues, and they found out of about 1000 car accidents of any kind involving police vehicles over the prior 10 years or so, only two cops were ticketed, and both were dismissed. Thats bad enough, but there were also 15 cases where other drivers were ticketed when they were rear ended by cops at intersections!
Reminds me of something my uncle told me when I got married, "always remember, even when she's wrong, she's right". If you ever get in an accident with a cop, you better be ready to take your castor oil.

Love it.  Now on my fb for my troopy-troopy friends to see.

But the dui-cop article is no big thing.  They get "caught" all the time without punishment.  It is, sadly, common place.
