Looking at Jumping into a black pool...

 :working: :working:
Found a 71 cuda with all the goodies I want but found out that it was wrecked.   The guy had a heart and replaced 3/4 of the metal on the car and had the subframe professionally redone.    I'm worried that I will snatch it up, paint it and find out the motor is goofed due to the impact (rear into K-Rail on a bad burn-out).   If I pick it up with all bits and pieces - a paint job (primered) and (is) running.  Does 20 K sound right for a 440?

Wow!  we woulld really need to see some (lots) of pictures to give you a better answer.  But with what you posted about the car $20,000 sounds high.

would have to find  out about the  professional person who did the frame and know more about his work,,if it was fixed right and really is a 71 with alot of extras then $20,000 might be good,,would need lots of pictures to see the work done,,but you said it needs paint,,that lowers the price,,really need pictures

Here's an important questions: What is it? Barracuda or Cuda? What are the first 5 digits of the Vin? Is it a 4 speed or auto. If it's just a 318 auto (BH23G1B) clone it isn't worth near  the $20k. If it is a 340 4 speed car (BS23H1B) I think it would be closer but still a stretch. Is there a fender tag, build sheet, matching numbers???

It's a BS23 code and it came with a 383 4-barrel originally.   Now, it's got a 440 in it from what and when I don't know. I haven't been able to verify the fenders but I have images of the VIN plate.   Good to hear it's going to be available to me for around what it's worth.
