Just remember to have your digital camera set at the highest resolution and have some FUN!   :picture:

A tiff is fine, always better to downsize than try to enlarge an image. I work with tiffs all the time since every time you make adjustments to a jpg you loose resolution. Just realize you may not be able to fit a million images on your media card. I agree with Daytona, the images are really great again this year.

My car was not ready in time this year and then when I did get it back we got hit with Snowpocalyopse 2011 so I didn;t get a chance to get any quality pics of it.

Here's a few points I'd like to make though:

1) As mentioned, the camera hides a lot of things. Your car doesn't need to be perfect.
2) You don't need to be a professional photographer or have a professional equipment to take great photos. A point and shoot can work just fine.
3) An interesting shot makes any car photo look better. Find a great place to take the photo. This can be a natural or a man made location.

One other thing here. I routinely edit in .tiff (or better yet .raw), but then save to .jpg to transmit. You actually only lose quality with a .jpg when you save, and every time you save, but if you save once as a .jpg to the highest quality level, you're going to lose very little quality, and have smaller file for transmission. When I processed the calendar images, the first thing I did after downloading was to save them as .tiffs for the quality.

1) As mentioned, the camera hides a lot of things. Your car doesn't need to be perfect.
2) You don't need to be a professional photographer or have a professional equipment to take great photos. A point and shoot can work just fine. Correct. A friend of mine wins competitions with shots he takes from his cell phone. Nice cameras make things easier, but less expensive cameras don't make it impossible to get a good shot.
3) An interesting shot makes any car photo look better. Find a great place to take the photo. This can be a natural or a man made location. Agreed. Look at the number of shots that were in the top twelve, and look at how many of them are interestingly "posed."

HK David, i really wanted to participate for the calender this year but way too much going on, car shows, doing body work for extra cash and fixing my own truck i just didn't have time to take the car out for pics. Finding a good place to take good pics around here is tough enough alone. I really wanted a nice fall picure of my Cuda but it rained everyday lol But next year i have a plan so i really hope to participate for next years calender

Hey, Cudaden. Two things. First, I'm glad you want to participate, and I'm sure you'll make it happen.

The other thing is that good pictures do not only happen in good weather. Each of the past two years has had a winning shot in snow. Three years ago (I think) there was a winning shot done in "simulated rain", where (if I remember correctly) the photographer, after hosing down his car, set up a garden hose to spray water in front of the camera to look like a rainstorm. Think how much better real rain could have looked  I know that for my personal work, there tends to be a correlation between bad weather and the aesthetic quality of the shot. So, short form, don't let weather scare you.

If you're worried about rain hurting your camera, I usually carry an appropriately sized ziploc bag if the weather is threatening. Put the camera in, make a hole for the lens, and the camera is instantly 95% waterproofed. This also works well at the beach to keep sand out, although I don't make a hole for the lens at the beach; just take the camera out only when you're using it.

Hey, Tonefiend. All e-bodies are something special     I've been saying for a while that, if I had the money, I'd love to find an original 6 cylinder car before they're all turned into Hemis. I think that the quality of the car and the quality of the shot have mattered a lot more than the rarity of the car, historically speaking.

Great point ChallengerHK. These days it seems like 318s and 6 cylinders are rarer than 340s and big blocks. I am really lucky to have one at all.

Sorry, my car was already in once.
As soon as the Cuda I did for my Boss shows up in magazines I can then submit my pictures of it for your consideration.
