Best oil pan gasket?
« on: November 07, 2011 - 07:35:13 PM »
I'm building a 451" and was wondering about oil pan gaskets? Does anyone have a molded silicon rubber type gasket with the steel inserts for the bolts ( so you can't over tighten it?) Used lots of this type of gasket in SBC engines but don't know where to get one for a BB Mopar?
I'll be using the Milodon road race pan if that matters?

Same design valve cover gaskets would be good too if anyone knows of any?

FelPro has a premium oil pan gasket , I guess I should have included it with the pan , I think it is $60 or so , you may need two & I would install a crank scraper as well

Would you happen to know the part #?
Would this be useful? Or will Milodon have a crank scraper?

looks like the right gasket , I would just make a crank scraper out of cardboard as a template & weld it onto a windage tray
yes the windge tray is helpful as well

A little too much rootbeer for ya Neil?  :roflsmiley: Weld a cardboard scraper to
the windage tray? You crack me up sometimes.  Though yes, I know what you meant.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
