Decided that I am going to pull the engine this weekend. The cam is really scored and refuses to come out of the engine without a fight. Figured I would do a complete teardown over the winter to see what else is wrong with it. People on this site are right, if you want something done right you should do it yourself.

It sucks but good plan, if the crank gear was installed wrong you will always wonder  what else is wrong!

I've been watching this but I believe the seller and buyer need to do this in private. there is no need to turn this forum into a open brawl for the world to get involved in. It's their deal to get straightened out in private. I've meet a lot of the folks from here and they are all great people. There for that's why I think it's better to settle it in private. Just my opinion!

There is nothing to really get settled. The deal is done. If the seller felt any guilt or remorse I am sure that I would have heard something by now. I am not here to brawl with anybody. I completed a transaction where in my opinion I have not been treated fairly.

I feel the forum should be a place where open discussion should be allowed and encouraged. I am simply communicating my frustrations and what I am going through at this time.

There's always two sides to a story guys and since I don't have a dog in this fight.... here's my thoughts:

It's clear Cndchallenger feels he was not treated fairly and that things were not done up to his standards.  He has a long list of things he feels should have been done different or were not done right at all.  The list includes a wide verity of items that range from a non running motor to date code correct items.  IMO for 20K you should get a fairly nice running car, but 20K doesn't seem anywhere close to what a challenger with show car paint and date code correct parts should cost.  Many have spend more than 5 times that to get a date code correct perfectly painted ebody.

Was the agreement for a date code correct show car restoration?  Or did they agree he only wanted to spend 20K on the car and do the best with that budget?  I have yet to see any documentation of the expectation or work to be preform from either side.  I think we should all withhold judgement on either side and do what we do best.  Provide the best advice and insight so Cdnchallenger can get his car to the level he wants.  As a group there's really nothing we can't solve, fix, repair or restore on ebodies.  I look forward to seeing photos as he takes his car to a new level.  Next summer will be here before you know it and his plan to do the engine work this winter is perfect.  Let's go the extra mile and really try hard to help him with good solid engine advice and positive comments to keep him going.

Have a great evening.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I agree with what CODY said you get what you pay contracted for!!,  although it is very unfortunate that it affected the mechanical, IMHO you just don,t sell someone a poorly assembled power train. It is normally about 100 grand for a numbers match perfect restoration at least 60 grand!! Your not in too bad of shape and you will trust what was done after you finish reassembly!  :burnout:

I am the only one on this website who has seen Cdnchallenger's car. My friend and I are going to rebuild his motor if we can get the cam as out it will not come out.We have had a number of qualified people try to get it out. So we have to pull it out and break it down to find the problem. We will make sure he has his car for the summer. I am so disappointed in the seller that he would not come forward and make things right with Cdn challenger. :burnout:

you are totally wrong. Regardless of what the cost was the engine should be running and the wheels shouldn't be grinding on the brake calipers. If you send a car out that isn't working you are a piece of **** and a shyster.
