If it were me spending a whole pocket of bills on this....I would have checked the car in person, BEFORE shipping....think that maybe more problems would have been taken care of in person instead of online....so easy to bash someone from behind a screen, when things could have easily been settled in person. JMO
Agreed,

But, If you can't put faith in a fellow forum member then who can you trust?
Not seeing the car in person doesn't make what the seller did right. Even if he were to see the car in person before delivery the money was already out of pocket. If he was paying for it in a lump sum when finished there could be some negotiation. Once the money is exchanged its pretty hard to get any back. IMO.

you are totally wrong. Regardless of what the cost was the engine should be running and the wheels shouldn't be grinding on the brake calipers. If you send a car out that isn't working you are a piece of **** and a shyster.

This post is exactly why I think the people involved needs to settel this privately. I understand the need to vent but when it reaches the mentality of this post it does nobody any good.

Just reading this post now, I feel your pain as I have been in the exact same situation. Bought a car from a member that he bought recently restored, except I paid way more and the car was WAY worse. I was lucky to get my money out of the car and the seller actually did his best to help me out, so no hard feeling on my deal. I sure hope you can find a way to make your car right.

It is definately a 2 sides of the coin issue. I have bought small items from FEBO and CC-com members and gotten great deals , it the the ones outside of the sites that will screw yah!!, most of the time. For the most part my experience has been good and the vendors are great.

Going by your whole 33 posts you probably not aware of what makes this site way better then the others. We work together and try to get along even when the going gets rough. We have lost  several great members that we have tried to get to come back.  I suspect was because of new people ,like yourself, that want to come in here and bring you crap with you from other sites. As I said we here have stuck together and worked through the bad stuff and the site is way better for it. I feel bad the OP feels taken and he may have been. There is just NO reason to turn this site into just another Mopar site where all that get done is a crap throwing. We still have a lot of great old and new members that are more then willing to send a helping hand for some in need of help. If I'm wrong then I will be more then happy to join the rest of members that stepped aside and let your type turn this place into just another crappy site!

So now you're thejudge and jury?  I don't have any reason to doubt the claims made, nor have I ever had a problem dealing with Gary.
So until both sides are heard ( I don't think it needs to be heard on this forum) we don't need to pass judgement in the open.
I truly believe that this thread should be locked by the OP or an admin before it gets out of hand.

Steve, I would suggest locking this thread and starting a new one that shows where you are with the car and what you need to finish it.  In the spirit of this site many will chine in and help you turn this into a positive experience with your car on the road asap.
