I give up on it. I still love them. I'm just never going to buy one. Say want you want. But I think the hobby is dead.
NOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!!!! Never say never!!!!!!!
Stuff is out there, you just have to weed put the granola (the flakes and nuts) that think thier rust pile of crappola is a diamond in the very rough. I look around craigslist and still see some stuff. It all depends what you want. There's more Challengers our there than Cudas that I have seen locally, not sure about your neck of the woods. A nice driver '72 Challenger is going for about $7k locally.
Yeah, the BJ and Mecum/Russo and steel people are kind of a pain in the butt, but it's because of some of those auctions it has really brought our cars out into the limelight. So it's a double edged sword: we can brag about a '71 HEMI Cuda vert going for $2.5 million, but we also complain about why our cars are so expensive and the parts cost so much. Gotta take the good with the bad, IMO.
Of course I would love to walk in to a salvage yard and pic up a 440 for $50 bucks like the good old days...
