nice!  Glad you might have found something.

We all need to vent once in a while.

Got any pics of the car?

It's a 70 Barracuda, they just keep posting it as a 71.... You could probably get it for 2k and use the money you save to go toward transport.
WANTED 71 cuda / barracuda project. Prefer Black but open.

Several members here have had cars shipped across country.  I'm sure one of them will chime in :)

Moparts has an area for transport so you might try there.

Alpine auto said they could ship it for $600. Sounds good to me. Just can't get a hold of the owner now.

What about the radiator support, door sticker, or cowl?  All gone as well?

Bound to be on one of those.
As for the vin not sure if having a vin remade of the original vin for the car is legal or not. Maybe someone who knows will chime in.

If Barry was still around he would be all over this subject.

Technically, it is illegal to remake any vin plate on any car in the US.

Every state has different regulations for this type of situation.

Mostly, you will have to get a new vin issued by the feds.
You have to prove the car is yours.
Then they will check to see if anything fishy is going on with the vin number.

The new vin they will give you will be a long strip that goes on your door jamb.

Not worth it if the car has no fender tag, build sheet, and numbers.

Great info, 'Cuda Hunter.  :grinyes:

I dunno, I know there's a lot of forgery with high optioned muscle cars ad such but I would think that there is someunderstanding that dash pads get swapped out and all due to them getting cracked.  Back in the '70's/'80s and even to some degree in the '90s one didn't think much about VIN #s as much as people are careful as they are now a days.

Email the RMV of your state and tell them the situation.  If you can get the VIN on the cowl and readiator support to match the title you might have something to work with.  :2cents:
