So finally it seems the weather is cooperating, it’s been a long winter.
So I rolled her out , gave her a little assessment and begun work again, towards completion …
all the exterior sheet metal has been, reworked/replaced , blasted, welded, primer etched, sealed, filled, and block sanded.
Should not be long now to put some paint on and back together she goes!!
I can't wait! pics tomorrow!!

update: she was a rough girl, now getting so pretty,as you can see i still have some blasting to do around window frames and interior but all main outer body is done, along with new hood, fenders, full quarters, trunk floor extensions, trunk lid, front and rear valance, front insert, grill, header panel, core rad support, bat tray & hood latch. I must have spent 160 hrs alone in labor on the roof, grinding out all inperfections. resorted to using a small dremel with carbide grind tip to cut out all rust without damaging or wraping roof.  I am also going to weld in real some nice frame connectors, that look factory and will strenghten body nicely.

she'll be sweet. :stirpot:

Re: waiting 7 years, The restro has finally begun

 and vigorously continues...

Hello all,
Working on this like crazy, so much so that I have not taken time to update my post
So I thought I'd update things.
Pics are worth a thousand words, so I won’t fill this post with too much blah, blah... I have replaced both door skins, (reworked shells) trunk floor/tank braces/rear rails, removed roof, split cowl, reworked and reinstalled, ..everything has been blasted, etched, and sealed along the way. (Areas that will be un-reachable once together have been painted)
At this point all that's left is to put a new roof skin on, (original too rough to salvage...) install frame connectors and give her a once over final body block sanding. My goal is to get it painted early this winter, and begin building engine, trans, suspension, wiring, interior, etc.
Enjoy…

yes, plan to fix these few small issues right before full body shell paint.

So here we go,
 :cooldancing:
nice weather and the location of a new quality roof skin, and I am back on it big time.
New roof skin, fit, trimmed, shaped, clamp and welded. I used org glass and marked measurement on glass to certain body line locations before removal to make sure new roof is located in exact position as original.
This process worked very well. I had reworked the outside of original roof but never happy with it,
replacing was time consuming but not nearly as even half the time I spend trying to save original.
additionally once I removed old roof, I was glad I did.

Car was blocked up, level; and measures out perfectly square and straight.
roof frame was blasted etched, sealed and painted.
Roof was fitted and welded. refit windows, and all aligns perfectly.
Next blast and dress welds, flip body, weld on sub-frame connectors, torque boxes, etch, seal/prime and paint bottom.
Flip body back over, paint the rest of body, and begin reassembly, since this was the last piece of sheet metal on body.
