« on: November 14, 2011 - 05:45:08 PM »
Hello I'm considering adding the vinyl top too my 70 barracuda gran coupe  and my question is the stainless  trim pieces different from a cuda to a gran coupe barracuda?I remember hearing that the SE challenger is different from the other challenger so It made me think that maybe the gran coupe is different also??Also can someone tell me or post some pictures of what/ how many pieces needed for the vinyl top. It is like you said, only the SE got the special chrome. The Barracuda,'Cuda and Gran Coupe all shared the same vinyl roof chrome. Two large pieces for the back of the roof and two for the front hidden behind the top rear edge of the front fender on the a-pillars. :2thumbs:

Good idea :2thumbs: Nothing like a brand new install of Gator Grain rolled out on your roof to give it that pop  :worshippy :wave:

I really like the Gator grain. Show pics of it after you put it on.

All the Gran Coupes I have seen have a textured, maybe coachman grain, vinyl top mouding.  It was not chrome.

I got the wrong moulding in my head.  It was the rear window moulding that was different.  Correct?

There was chrome and texured.
Texured rear window trim was primarily found with rear window louver optioned hardtops.

Nobody I have heard reproduces the chrome window trim. You have to hunt for them in For Sale here or you could try E Bay. Craigslist is another possibility.

:iagree: As Topcat has stated, But the rear window textured trim was also available on Gran Coupes that were tagged for it :2thumbs: Pretty hard stuff to find. :wave:

After all this good information I have one last question about the vinyl top  trim which is;

Are the two pieces for the pillar on a cuda /barracuda  the same as the ones on a challenger

Thanks for all your help!!

If you are talking about the parts on the A-pillars, then yes those parts are the same for both Challenger and Barracuda :2thumbs:
