    Would it be possible to powder coat an entire shell of a car? I know a powder coater that has an oven 25 ft long and he can do a primer powder coating. What do you think?

    I wouldn't advise powder coating for the outside of a car.  Over time the coating will fade and actually become chaulky.  That's why you never hear of it.  For stuff inside and under the car you can't beat the durability and the look but I would steer clear of the outside body panels until someone perfects a petter process.  Good luck

    good question i just talked to bosco powdercoating i was going to get my under carrige done instead of undercoating he told me it was the best way to go so i would like a little more info on this has anybody done this any pics :dunno: :feedback:

    I would only consider powdercoating the underside of the car if the body has been dipped. Once the powder is on ,the surface will have to be backed at 200`C.  At that temperature all grease, undercoating and other pollution will come boiling out of every seam, resulting in no paint in those areas.

    dropped my cuda off today at the powder coating today to get the whole undercarriage done i guess will see how it turns out :bananasmi :ylsuper:

    When are you supposed to have the car back from the powdercoater?

    Tropical cats said his powder coater can powdercoat a Primer coat.

    I would assume this would mean you would be able to paint over the primed powdercoat.

    I'd be worred the heat from curing the powder coat would warp "stuff"  :scared:

    he said it would take 4 days but with thanksgiving maybe longer he said nothing would warp he does alot of cars and they turn out great i seen his work   :cheers:

    i need some help how to resize pictures so you can view them when i take pics with my phone the look to big and you can only see part of the pic and when i take pics with my camera  it wont let me post them at all i got as far as putting them on image shack to resize them but then what how do i get them to here or is there a easier way can i set my camera so they will post on here help please i have more pics to post but cant  and if your like me i like to see pics  thanks  :dunno: :clueless:

    On Imageshack, Copy and paste the forum code on the left after you upload the picture. Make it idealy 600 x 800.

    Right the guy I use said I would want to talk with the guy painting my car if he wanted to go over a powder coat but he did say he could do a primer powder that we would have no trouble with.

    Don't think you would have any worry with the heat warping the metal, it is a fairly  low temp in the oven Normally the powders cure at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes.
