Is this what the back of a 70 Cuda Console should look like?

Can anyone tell me if the back of the console looks correct? Also it looks like the back where the wood grain ends might be broken?

Nope. Looks just like my Challenger console though. 

There was an ash tray in there at one time. Plus some of your plastic is broken off.

If you have a 70 console, that slot is to hold the seat belts. The 71-74 consoles had an ashtray.

I'm sorry, I don't know the numbers. Let me ask you this, does the top plate have 4 or 5 screws holding it in place? A 70 top plate is held on by 4 screws.

What you have there is a 1970 console that has been broken, it is missing a part around the back and the 1970 console did not have an ash tray at all, that hole is to hold the seat belt buckles when not in use.

Yeah, 4 screws in the top plate and it all makes sense now, thanks for posting the picture. I wish I would have done a little more research before I bought it but live and learn.
