Rear seat belt retactors
« on: November 25, 2011 - 06:23:55 PM »
Is there some trick to removing these?  The large bolts don't seem to want to budge. Before I go the more force route I want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious

It's been years, but I don't recall any trick. I had a long handled breaker bar to give me leverage. It's funny how that solved a lot of problems.   :grinyes:

I agree.  No trick to it.  Might want to spray some liquid wrench or similar anti-corrosion spray on them first and let them sit 30 mints.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Wear gloves! Those bolts have such a 'thin' head it is hard to get a good grip on them. I remember punching the floor a couple times. ::)

More torque did it.  I always wear gloves when working on the challenger.  Sometimes I think the designer of some of these parts wanted to make cutlery when he grew up.  Look at those lower rear seat mounts!
