My new baby---is home now
« on: November 26, 2011 - 07:37:27 PM »
I happened to take a look on the local classifieds this afternoon on the off chance that something cool and in my price range was on there. For the first time in a while, there was.

I already own the finger in the top corner of the picture

The fender tag is a little hard to read, but here it is.
It's a 318 auto car, PS PB with 355 gears. Originally it was J5, but now it's orange with poorly painted on TA stripes. It's missing the TA ducktail, but has the holes for it. The trunk floor and front floor have a few pinholes, but nothing too major. It's got new tires and rims, and the interior is in great shape. It's been sitting in a trailer for the last 8 years so it's in pretty good shape.
The engine has a little work done to it, including a cam and 4 bbl. It starts and runs really well, and is going to make a nice little daily driver. It even has a vacuum canister so the power brakes work.
The best part of all is that I got it for 12,000 which is pretty cheap in a more or less closed vehicle economy like Puerto Rico.

In front of the brown 71 Roadrunner is a 68 Roadrunner with a numbers matching 383 4 speed.

I'll be bringing the Challenger home on Wednesday or Thursday. Since my neighbors aren't really car people, they're going to be amazed how fast the Cuda came back, and how different it looks :roflsmiley:

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

You need to black out the orange behind the grille , so you cannot see it through the grille !!

I'm going to redo the black on the front and back, and redo the TA stripe without the TA and do the blackout on the hood. I got some paint down here that I was told is the same finish as Organosol but I don't want to use the Cuda as a test subject and find out it's wrong. I'm going to try it on the Challenger and if it's too flat or too glossy I'll be fine with it since the car isn't perfect and I plan on it being a fair weather daily driver

I'm thinking of it as more of a Birthday gift. The money is getting transferred down from Canada right now and it should be here Wednesday or Thursday and my birthday is on Friday. My wife is getting me a 71 Cuda grille for Christmas or as soon as they have them at Roseville, along with a couple of really cool 1/64 scale cars and a couple of 1/24 scale cars. Plus there are the real surprise gifts that I don't know about

That would be a great deal anywhere I think, Congrats!  Very nice car, would love to have a 70 Challenger or Cuda, think I'd have to clone a T/A or AAR if I found either as nice as yours!
