To Fit 315's
« on: November 29, 2011 - 12:25:07 PM »
Hi All
I'm looking to put 315/35/17's in the back this winter. The Torq Thrust rims in 17"x10.5" come with a 6.85" backspace. As it sits now I have 6 5/8" from the drum wheel mounting surface to the springs. I have 6 3/8" from the mounting surface to the wheel opening lip. There's room to roll. The Nitto 555 tires have an overall width of 12.56". With the Dr. Diff 1" relocation kit, they should fit, no?  I was thinking, with the backspace on those rims, a B body rear wouldn't make sense so I'm sticking with the e-body rear.

Is there anything I am missing (miscalculating) before I order the rims and tires?

I have the exact same rims with the Dr. Diff relo kit with an e body 8 3/4, and there is lots of room.
