Jaa Bee, right on right on. Upon closer inspection, yes the channel is there and in tact. Yes it also has the 3 self-tapping screws. So its looking like you guys may be correct in saying all i need is the convertible top weather stripping kit. I may as well replace all of them if im buying the whole kit. Any other suggestions or replys are welcome. Thanks to all.

My only suggestion is to make sure the weatherstrip is made by SoffSeal.  I understand they have the best fit and therefore the best seal.

Thx challenger6pack, i will check into the soft seals brand. I will not be looking in the bargain basement for any parts for this car. She is not perfect, but i do have to much in it not to do things right moving forward. Im guessing the kit will have the window felt part with it as well as the rubber seal?

I don't know.  Jay Bee may know.  The last set I bought was from my local Dodge dealer.  I had to buy them individually. I don't know what year it was.  I am the second owner of my convertible and it was not too long after I got it in 1979.  It was a nice used car back then.

Gus cuda, The Soffseal convertible weatherstripping kit does not come with the window felt.  Also, it doesn't come with the A-pillar weatherstripping either, that has to bought separately as well. What the kit does come with is 7 pieces . Three different length pieces for each side that fit into the channels and one long one for the front of the top (where it meets the stainless steel).

I'd also recommend that when you change them out you do them one at a time. That way you can be sure you get the correct length one in the correct channel and in the correct position.

Someone once told me that Soffseal does not sell to individuals, you have to buy their product from one of their distributers. Maybe that's not the case now - who knows.

Ok JayBee, thx for all your help. I have checked it out to be sure i understand what you are trying to tell me. I understand it all now. Just looks like i have to clean up the channels and glue the new pieces in place. Thanks to all who have tried to help! Gus
