Might want to wait on the new fuel injection from MSD:  Summitracing shows a future ship date of June 2012.  Without the fuel pump and lines it is less that $2000. It uses PWM to drive the fuel pump and does not require a return line.

As for Fuel lines, I use 3/8 steel brake lines and bend as much as possible so I can feed it through the frame holes without kinks. You can buy rolls of brake line from the good Auto Parts stores, like NAPA. I use the stock 5/16 line as the return line.

I priced the FAST system without the throttle body to go with my MPI manifolds and I think the cost was around $850.  Very do-able for a self tuning system.

Looks like a nice system but it's a throttle body system and I need to use 8 injectors, so it won't help me much I don't think? The STR will still have puddling issues with a TB system thats why I was thinking 8 injectors

Are you looking at a sequential EFI? If it is not sequential, some fuel puddling may still occur on your intake valve before it opens. This usually causes no trouble at all. The OEMs went to sequential only because pollution laws kept getting tighter and tighter. Shelby Dogg is right with the brake line. He even told me of a fuel filter that is a perfect fit for the brake line flare fitting. As a side note, I dont remember the exact info, but somebody  thru amazon was selling the 99 vette fuel filter/fpr for 15.00 bucks. this is getting to be the standard fpr for injection swaps. its set at 58psi, is not adjustable, and can be mounted real close to the tank, making for a short return line. the short return, not connected to the fuel rails may cause some flow issues, but all the OEMs do that now with no trouble

if the fuel puddles inside the port a little it wil be fine unless you have a long duration cam & get some reversion , the STR had a bad problem with holding approx 1 cup of fuel on top of the runners inside the plenum , the multi port inject should never do this

Then the FAST conversion kit may be the way to go.  Self learning and only  $891 at summit.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FST-302000/

Been looking at this system myself for a little while now.  I have 3 systems that don't auto tune, so I was looking for a cheap upgrade to throw on.   Just remember that this system does not control timing like the XFI 2.0 which now has an auto tune option.

Good to know thanks! FI is new to me so I can use all the help I can get LOL!  :grinyes:
So is the XFI 2.0 an upgrade to the kits your link shows? They show 2 boxes a black one and a red/orange one, what's difference? You must need a different distributor for the timming feature? Knock sensor too?

I agree, but if we had more funds, we would just be spoiled and not really enjoy what we worked hard for.  I would have more junk to step over.

6-BBL  EFI would be awesome.

I hate to ask ...but what does the 6 pack set up cost, I don't need the fuel rails, injectors etc...
